For this arrangement of The Swan by Saint-Saëns, the solo voice is the original melody, while the other 4 voices are derived from the piano part. This arrangement can be heard on YouTube, "Rutesheim Cello Akademie 2011", where the five teachers alternately play a few bars of the solo part and the others play the accompaniment. The accompaniment is very simple; therefore this arrangement is suitable for young players. It can also be played with a larger cello ensemble.
