In the last few months we have been greatly expanding our catalog of cello ensemble scores, in no small part thanks to editors like Charles Jacot. Now, Mr. Jacot has collaborated with Ovation Press to publish our first arrangement for string trio: the Fugue from Le Tombeau de Couperin by Maurice Ravel.
Ovation Press is excited to welcome world-famous violist and founding member of the Guarneri String Quartet Michael Tree to its already outstanding roster of viola editors. In Mr. Tree's first release he shines a light into Robert Schumann's more obscure compositional period with Fünf Stücke im Volkston (Five Pieces in Popular Style)for viola and piano!
Amy Barlowe, the dynamic composer who brought us the internationally-acclaimed 12 Etude-Caprices in the Styles of Great Composers has released two suites for string orchestra. The first – Celebration Suite – is for string orchestra, percussion and sopranos while the second – Suite Celtica – is for string orchestra. These are significant additions to our catalog of music from a composer who has received rave reviews from musicians globally.
Editor Alan Bodman gives us an exciting opportunity to see how seamlessly the musical ideas of Russian composer Alexander Glazunov can be translated from cello to viola with his arrangement of Glazunov's Chant du ménestrel for viola.
