Danish-German conductor-cellist Hans Erik Deckert has demonstrated an affinity in the past for older works of the Renaissance and early Baroque. His most recent work has produced a series of four chorale arrangements for cello ensemble from some of the most prolific composers of the age: Palestrina, Ockeghem, Praetorius, and Purcell.

Mr. Roither presents two works which he created at the request of the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic, one of the world's most highly regarded cello ensembles: the Seven Spirituals and Ack Värmeland for 12 celli.
Hans Erik Deckert explores the Italian style in this release for cello ensemble, having arranged Gastoldi's A lieta vita for cello quintet.
