These are some gems from the treasure trove of vocal polyphony. In this three-part writing we can experience the magic of music through the beauty of this music. The simplicity the masterful writing and the balance of these three voices through the upper voice, the middle voice and the lower voice unlocks the magic behind the music. These wonderful small movements from the 17th century were written by Johann Staden, Clemens non Papa, Thomas Morley, Heinrich Schütz, Johann Walther and Antonio Caldara, among others. These trios are a great introduction to polyphonic writing for less advanced players because the music is mostly written in the lower registers of the cello.
