"O Mio Babbino Caro" is among the most popular arias in opera and is arguably Giacomo Puccini's most famous work. And, while the aria has been done in countless arrangements – from piano & voice, to solo violin, to string orchestra – Ovation Press' exclusive arrangement by Fedor Amosov is one of the few for cello ensemble.

David Popper is well-known for a number of shorter showpieces written to highlight the unique sound and style native to the cello. He extended the instrument's range to new heights with pieces such as Spinnlied (Spinning Song). Viacheslav Dinerchtein's arrangement brings that same approach in his transcription for the viola. It is a technical tour de force in under two minutes.

Two Hans have come together to deliver two new arrangements for our cello ensemble catalog! Prolific Ovation Press editor and in-demand musician Hans Erik Deckert has chosen the Drei Intraden (preludes) and Tanzen und Springen of Renaissance/Early Baroque composer Hans Leo Hassler as his subject.

Our latest arrangement for cello ensemble has the unique fortune to also be featured on a new CD. In late August, Cellophony – a London-based cello octet – released their debut album Vibrez which features a varied tracklist of arrangements and adaptations for cello ensemble, including Franz Schubert's Three Songs from Schwanengesang, arranged for cello octet.
