With the last month having been focused on the violin and the work of composer Helmut Lipsky, we're excited to shift the focus back to you cellists this week with a great transcription by editor Valter Dešpalj. In the past, Mr. Dešpalj has delivered some very creative arrangements that bring the cello together with guitar. Jacques Offenbach's Musette is the latest to feature this pairing.
For the past few weeks on our blog String Visions we've been running a special multi-part series revolving around the work of Ovation Press composer Helmut Lipsky. The interview series consisted of four parts and a special score spotlight on Mr. Lipsky's violin duo suite Voyage à deux Volume 1 (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) and Volume 2.
Leading bass performer and pedagogue Anthony Stoops has published another virtuoso solo work perfect for use in competitions and festivals – Paganini's Caprice No. 14 transcribed for Bass Solo.
In the last few months we have been greatly expanding our catalog of cello ensemble scores, in no small part thanks to editors like Charles Jacot. Now, Mr. Jacot has collaborated with Ovation Press to publish our first arrangement for string trio: the Fugue from Le Tombeau de Couperin by Maurice Ravel.
